Our Journey
About Kin and Cloth
We are so much more than providing children clothing. Even in fashion, a positive change can be introduced.
Kin and Cloth is an independent label providing a way forward for change.
It is a true labour of love
The Founder
Kin and Cloth was founded by Jasmine King, who has over 20 years working in the fashion industry gaining experience with luxury, high street design teams and retail. She is focused on keeping it real and offering products that you can use long after the trends have passed.
Jasmine’s strong vision was shaped from the days of watching and learning her mother’s love of colour as a seamstress and her sisters professional cutting and tailoring skills. After finishing several years of detailed technical training in the importance of a well-cut design, Jasmine cut her teeth at a Luxury fashion brand, before moving on to gain knowledge of high street fashion.
Disillusioned by the rise of fast fashion and respect for our makers behind the product, the foundation began for delivering design led pieces for a longer wearer time.
It's that expertise...
That Jasmine has now instilled in the Kin and Cloth label. It is important to us that our products are ethically made, using fabrics carefully sourced for comfortable, easy to wear shapes.
All our designs are hand crafted in the UK. Kin and Cloth is definitely not about fast, throw away fashion, but all about offering a blend of pieces for those who prefer to choose well and buy quality that will be handed down to future generations. It is important children care about the clothing they wear and understand how important every person is, who made their items.
"Guiding a legacy through lived experience, whilst it passes through my hands"
A creative design led process has been handed down to Jasmine from her parents and an older sibling. Inspired to lead by example within the fashion industry because of the dominance of unsustainable over consumption.
We are focused on clothing the next generation and guiding young minds to bring a better way forward for our clothing industry.
That change has been acknowledged by parents, caregivers who want to buy better and our education leaders in a local school for the impact creative workshops we also deliver for the next future creators.
