Collaboration and Mentorship

Collaboration and Mentorship

Our Founder and Creative Director Jasmine King was delighted to have the opportunity and be part of the two year celebration for Lloyds and Crisis UK partnership.

A collaboration between Lloyds, Crisis UK, and Kin & Cloth

Over the past two years I have been delighted to participate in the Lloyds and Crisis UK partnership's mentor programme. This program launched in 2024 as a means to further help people connected to crisis who have been funded from their changing life program and encourage many more Lloyds staff to become a mentor. It was an honour to be the first mentee to begin the partnership with Lloyds and had led to the development of a much valued connection.

I was previously awarded funding from The Changing Life Grant from Crisis UK. It was a modest sum of money that was a great enough help to buy a camera. Vitally, being able to capture high-quality images of children wearing the handcrafted clothing would set me on a better pathway able to market and grow my business.

Recently, at a photoshoot, a mom shared “Your clothes have a knack with children, they bring out the best in them, the real them”. With this camera I've been able to develop the brand's visual identity with a naturalistic photography style that illustrates this insight (it’s not the first time we’ve heard it).

It's hard to convey what makes our range special because that only comes out when kids feel comfortable and have the chance to be at ease and be themselves. Having a good quality camera has given me exactly the tool I need to capture how great the children feel when they're wearing our designs and how great they look.

Without proper photography it would be impossible to convey this quality of our work when we’re promoting the clothes we make. Product shots on their own don’t show that kids love to wear them because the clothes make them feel good, not just look good.

It was recently shared that 6,339 internal Lloyds staff have already viewed the video and we hope that more people will sign up to help support this programme.
